Luray / Page County, Virginia

You probably associate the name of Luray with Luray Caverns, which is the largest and most visited caverns in the East. You can also play golf here, enjoy sweets at Luray Fudge Company, get lost in the Garden Maze, and hear rocks sing on the Great Stalacpipe Organ. Everyone should visit these caverns, but this is a town with much more to offer. Here are some other sites you need to visit and of course spend time in our beautiful downtown.

Luray Zoo, located just a few miles from the caverns, is a rescue zoo that is home to birds of prey, exotic cats, mammals, and reptiles from around the world. It also boasts a large venomous snake collection.

Arts & Artisans Fine Art Gallery features original paintings and drawings, as well as limited edition prints by local and nationally known artists. After a meal at The Artisans Grill next door, be sure to stop in and see some fine artwork.

Accommodations abound in Luray. Bring the entire family to stay at Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Camp Resort located in foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and near Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Known as the Cabin Capital of Virginia, Luray and the surrounding area offers many to choose from; secluded riverfront cabins, log cabins, and quaint rustic hideaways. Plan a memorable stay at The Mimslyn Inn, a grand historic inn fully restored in 2007.

Luray is home to Shenandoah National Park headquarters, and a gateway entrance to the famed Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park Lodging, and all the wonderful outdoor activities the Park has to offer.
